Where the roads meet
Nova’s obituary reports her marriage to Dan Dale Darsey in Lubbock on 27 December 1947. The family tree preserves the same event and a couple photograph labeled with that date. The photograph’s date and occasion remain family attributions.
Two recorded paths
Henry William Wood → John Henry Wood → William Henry “Uncle Billy” Wood → John Andrew Wood → Nova. Benjamin Sr. → Benjamin Jr. → William Y. → Henry Clay → Thomas J. → Dan. These are recorded descent paths; not every connection has been independently proved.
The people behind the names
Mollie’s published household recollections, Nova’s reported wartime jig-building and Dan’s documented conservation farming give the older names a destination: the making of a family and a home.
Donna’s branch joins the family
Dan and Vera Mae Berry/Beery’s recorded daughter Donna is Teena’s paternal half sister and Eric’s maternal half-aunt. The official 1968 marriage indexes join her Darsey and Gettys names to Michael Henry Farr. Vera’s later marriage to Harold Gettys explains the family context without proving adoption. Donna’s story keeps the inherited birth, obituary descendant attributions and probable community matches qualified. The latest strong family notice reports her among survivors in September 2025; later status remains unverified.
